AMTA to express industry concern about anti-money laundering legislation at Senate hearing
AMTA Chief Executive Officer Chris Althaus will appear before the Senate’s Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee in Sydney next week to express the mobile telecommunication industry’s concerns about proposed new anti-money laundering legislation.
Strong mobile phone shipments growth in October
The latest industry mobile phone shipment figures show there were 982,040 shipments in October 2006. This took the total shipments for the year to 7.18 million. This is 13% higher than the same 10-month period for 2005. The October 2006 shipments were nearly 18% higher than the 833,656 total shipments in October 2005. In 2005 there were 8,008,419 shipments for the year.
60% of Integral Energy staff help round up mobiles during National Recycling Week
Over 2,500 Integral Energy staff across 17 sites in greater western Sydney rounded up 1500 phones as part of their contribution to National Recycling Week. “This is the highest return rate per staff member we have seen so far for a corporate muster”, said Rose Read, Manager Recycling.

MACH says that it has been selected as a partner by AeroMobile to support the deployment of the world's first in-flight mobile service, according to Cellular-News reports. Emirates, one of the world's largest airlines with a state of the art fleet of aircraft, will be the first carrier to introduce the service.
