AMTA seeks clarification on jamming during APEC next week
The Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association has sought clarification from the Federal Government whether mobile services would be affected by any form of service disruption during the next week’s Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Forum in Sydney.
Caution urged on Israeli test-tube cell study on mobile phones
The Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association has expressed caution about the findings of an Israeli study that claims mobile phone use could trigger a reaction affecting cell division.

As 3G penetration grows and data usage increases so the market for mobile advertising is developing, says AMTA Chief Executive Officer, Chris Althaus. To support the further growth and development of mobile advertising the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) has this week released guidelines for mobile advertising formats.
Mobilemuster trials retailer incentive to boost collections
During September and October, Mobilemuster, in partnership with Vodafone’s premium dealer channel, the Martin Dawes company, will offer prizes to stores that return collections. All stores which collect more than 10 kg will receive “sweet treats” and the top performing stores will receive prizes of double gold pass movie tickets and Myers gift vouchers. The top store will also receive a $1000 Flight Centre voucher. Should this trial be effective in increasing collections, Mobilemuster will look at extending similar incentives across the mobile phone retailer channels.
