Election Dynamics – Don’t forget the Senate
Federal politics continues to be pre-occupied with pre-election manoeuvres. While speculation continues on the election date, the actual announcement is academic as the options have narrowed to late November (17 or 24) or early December (1 or 8).
No evidence of mobile phone brain cancer link
There is no biological, medical, or statistical basis to assert a link between mobile phone use and brain cancer, AMTA Chief Executive Chris Althaus said in response to media reports earlier this week.

Premium Services Review Underway
AMTA is currently working on a review taskforce looking at the Mobile Premium Services Industry (MPSI) scheme. At the request of Minister Coonan the industry is reviewing the scheme after its first year of operation.

ACRBR is hosting a series of information and discussion sessions over three days aimed at sharing knowledge and expertise on health effects associated with human exposure to radio communications technology.

Global sales of mobile handsets continue to boom along with strong local results. Industry analyst, Gartner Inc., has noted strong growth in global handset sales with an increase of just over 17% in Q2 2007 compared to the same period last year.

Air transport body launches mobile check-in
Airport queues could become a thing of the past under a new scheme for travellers to check in with mobile phones, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) .
