AMTA will continue its program of engagement with the education sector next week by attending the Annual Conference of the Australian Council of State School Organisations (ACSSO) in Darwin.

The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman’s complaint statistics provide carriers with good business intelligence to help them to do business better and serve their customers, the new Ombudsman, Deirdre O’Donnell, told an AMTA Members Forum in Sydney yesterday.
Telco sailors show their community spirit and raise $30,000 for Salvos
The telecommunications industry has raised over $30,000 for the Salvation Army’s OASIS Youth Support Network though its annual sailing event, the AMTA Telco Regatta.
MCF alerts rooftop building workers to Health and Safety issues.
This week the MCF has written to the Australian Window Cleaners Federation, the Building Services Contractors Association of Australia and the Property Council of Australia, seeking their assistance in alerting their members to Health and Safety issues.
ACRBR Science Week – register now
AMTA and MCF Members who would like to attend the Australian Centre for RF Bioeffects Research (ACRBR) Science Week program should book soon because places are limited. Science Week, a three-day program starting on October 31, aims to improve public understand of radio communications technology and health issues.
Mobilemuster appoints SMEC to investigate kerbside recycling options
With nearly 16 million handsets eligible for recycling stashed away at home in cupboards and drawers, AMTA is committed to increasing the number of phones being recycled and has been investigating the possibility of diversifying its collection methods to make mobile phone recycling even easier by collecting directly from homes via kerbside collection.
“Road-Right” backs safety messages with big rewards for L drivers
Learner drivers now have plenty of reasons to study for their driver’s licence thanks to a ground-breaking initiative that aims to both educate and motivate with a substantial prize pool. Developed by the Amy Gillett Foundation, with the support of the Australia Driver Trainers’ Association and State and Territory licensing authorities, Road-Right is the first program of its kind designed to heighten learner driver awareness of people cycling on Australian roads.
Mobile advertisers issue guidelines
Major mobile advertisers, including Yahoo, Enpocket and Admob, have announced that their mobile properties worldwide will adhere to new advertising guidelines set out by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) EMEA. The guidelines, published recently, are intended to establish a common standard for mobile ad campaigns in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as deliver a consistent consumer experience across handsets
