The UK is moving ahead with the roll-out of 5G technologies and application with an announcement that the UK Government will fund six 5G pilot programs across the country to the value of £25m. The funding of the pilot programs is part of the UK’s overall Digital Strategy which was launched in 2017 and has allocated a total of £1 billion to develop the UK’s digital economy.
The six pilot programs are being implemented by small to medium businesses in co-operation with universities and local authorities. The pilot programs include smart agriculture and tourism applications as well as and healthcare and self-driving cars. You can read more here.
