ARPANSA releases review of Radiation Protection Standard

The Federal Government safety agency, the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) has released its review of the Radiation Protection Standard, which finds safety standards for mobile phones, base stations, radio, television and other wireless devices provide a high degree of protection for the community against known health effects.

ARPANSA’s expert panel has reviewed the latest science supporting the setting of public safety emission standards.

It confirms the adequacy of the present ARPANSA radiofrequency electromagnetic energy (RF EME) emissions safety standard:

“…the Expert panel finds that the underlying basis of the ARPANSA RF Exposure Standard remains sound and that the exposure limits in the Standard continue to provide a high degree of protection against the known health effects of RF electromagnetic fields.”
