This week the Victorian Minister for the Environment, Gavin Jennings, and Recycling Committee Chairman, Chris Mason, launched two MobileMuster collection points in the heart of Melbourne.
One in The Urban Workshop, 50 Lonsdale Street, home to Sustainability Victoria and the other in Castletown Towers. These buildings are home to over 8,000 office workers who are being encouraged to clean up their drawers at work and home and recycle them in the MobileMuster tubes located in the foyers of both buildings. It is estimated that there would be at least 5,400 unused mobiles lying around in drawers at work or home.
Accompanying the Minister and Recycling Chair Chris Mason at the launch were Cam Frazer, Manager Sustainable Production, Sustainability Victoria and David Raina, Senior Facilities Manager, Knight Franks Australia.
As a result of the launch Knight Frank Australia has committed to establishing MobileMuster collection points in all of their managed buildings with satchels in their regional offices.
Sustainability Victoria, the driver in establishing these collection points, has christened their efforts to promote MobileMuster as the little project with a big outcome and will be taking the MobileMuster’s recycling message far and wide as part of their other community engagement activities across the state.
