MobileMuster – National Schools Recycling Challenge

Friday, 11 September 2009

From Monday 14th September MobileMuster will invite schools across Australia to participate in its National Schools Recycling Challenge. For every 30kg of recycled mobile phones and accessories collected in the Challenge, $100 will be donated to Landcare Australia to help restore an endangered bandicoot’s habitat. This will include tree planting and predator proof fencing, as well as creating community awareness.

The challenge is to collect 3,000 kgs nationally of mobile phones and accessories by the end of National Recycling Week (9-15 November 2009) to help to restore the habitat of approximately 100 bandicoots.

Schools can register online at www.mobilemuster.com.au or mail or fax the registration form available from the website or 1300 730 070. MobileMuster will send out a Challenge Pack which includes posters, flyers, an educational MobileMuster DVD, along with information and teaching resources linked to the bandicoot.

Schools collecting over 8kgs will receive rewards, with fantastic prizes for the top schools and students in each state.

Registrations close Friday 9th October 2009. The Challenge concludes Friday 13th November 2009.
