MobileMuster attends 2010 Enviro Conference in Melbourne

The Enviro Conference and Exhibition, which was held this week in Melbourne, is the premier national assembly of Australian environment and industry stakeholders.

The primary objective of Enviro 2010 was to assemble the leaders of the Australian environment industry, business and policy makers to facilitate cross-fertilization and networking opportunities. The breadth and diversity of contributors covered all aspects of sustainability.

The Enviro Conference was a collection of keynote addresses and workshops dealing with sustainability issues faced by governments, business and the public, including a workshop on the National Waste Policy. AMTA was represented by Manager, Recycling Rose Read who chaired a session on waste and resource recovery.

The conference ran concurrently with the Enviro 2010 Exhibition where more than 100 exhibitors, including MobileMuster, displayed the latest in environmental and sustainability innovation. Attendees were encouraged to recycle their old mobile phones at the MobileMuster stand, attended by Rose Read and Spyro Kolofotias of AMTA.

A native tree will be planted for every kilogram of mobile phones and accessories handed in, along with the opportunity to win $250 for the nominated charity of one entrant.

Since it’s inauguration in Sydney in 2000, Enviro has grown in both eminence and participation. This year 1,000 visitors were expected over the 3 days.
