MobileMuster features at Peats Ridge and Woodforde Festivals this Christmas & New Year

People enjoying the festive season at this year’s Peats Ridge Festival just north of Sydney will have the opportunity to help build a sculpture Treecycle made from recycled mobile phones.

Acclaimed artist, Simon Maberley, will be onsite at this year’s festival turning old and broken mobile phones into a new-life themed sculpture, in front of festival goers.

Commissioned by not-for-profit mobile phone recycling program, MobileMuster and Virgin Mobile, Maberley will use mobile phones, chargers and accessories brought along by Festival goers to create a new artwork to celebrate recycling.

Those who bring their old mobiles and chargers along to contribute will also go in the lucky dip to win great prizes including a new phone, breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Festival, an electric bike tour, a solar powered torch or an Sony Ericsson GreenHeart™ phone.

The Sony Ericsson GreenHeart™ phone is made with recycled plastics and in-phone manuals that reduce paper and is the one of the greenest options around.

MobileMuster will use and tour the sculpture for 12 months to raise awareness about mobile phone recycling. For more information about the Peats Ridge Festival go to: http://www.peatsridgefestival.com.au/index.php/info/competitions-and-promotions/bring-your-old-mobile-phone-and-win-with-virgin-mobile-and-mobilemuster

People attending the famous Woodforde Folk Festival about an hour of Brisbane will be able to pick up free recycling satchels and learn more about mobile phone recycling at the Internet Café.
