New figures for September 2009 show that in the third quarter of this year shipments rose by 11% compared to the same period in 2008.

According to the Informark figures, there were 797,498 shipments of mobiles to Australia in September 2009 compared to 798,383 in September 2008. This was a slight fall of 0.1%

However, for the calendar year to September 2009 there were 6,348,723 shipments compared to 6,023,610 for the same 9-month period in 2008, representing a 5.4% increase.

In the third quarter of 2009 there were 1,393,465 shipments compared to 1,254,216 in quarter three 2008. This is an 11% rise.
