Hugh Jackman proved a showstopper, literally, during a Broadway performance when he addressed an audience member whose mobile phone kept ringing, News.com.au reported this week.
The Australian star features alongside James Bond Daniel Craig in a play called A Steady Rain. An amateur video, featured on TMZ.com, shows the incident in full.
In the middle of a tense dramatic scene, a phone can be heard. While staying in character, Jackman points to the phone offender and says: “You wanna get that? You wanna get that, grab it I don’t care. Grab your phone it doesn’t matter."
A few seconds later the phone starts to ring again prompting Jackman, still in character to say: “Come on, just turn it off unless you got a better story, you want to get up and tell your story?”
Craig then also chimes in with: “Can you get that, whoever it is can you just get it? We can wait just get the phone,” Craig says. A Steady Rain tells the story of two Chicago policemen whose lives are thrown into turmoil after they mistakenly hand a young boy back to a cannibalistic serial killer. The plot mirrors a real life event involving US serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.
