AMTA welcomes the appointment of the inaugural CEO of the Australian Communications Consumers Action Network (ACCAN), Mr Allan Asher, and Teresa Corbin CEO of Consumers’ Telecommunications Network (CTN) as ACCAN's Deputy CEO, as announced today.

ACCAN, a new peak body established for Consumers and Consumer Organisations, on Issues Including Telecommunications and the Internet, aims to enhance consumer advocacy, reduce duplication, maintain and enhance existing skills and diversity of representation and undertake research and analysis from a consumer perspective. The overarching objective guiding this new body is to ensure effective and equitable communications for all Australian citizens.

Both Allan and Teresa will formally commence their roles in July, but are currently working on the formation of ACCAN.
