In 2003 AMTA established its Accessibility Committee. The Committee has developed an AMTA accessibility work plan as a framework for our work with members and organisations that represent people with disabilities.
The Committee’s objectives are to:
- increase members’ awareness of innovation and developments in accessibility policies, strategies and initiatives both in Australia and overseas
- ensure that accessibility for people with disabilities is considered as part of AMTA’s consideration of all issues and
- improve access to mobile services by persons with disabilities.
The following AMTA members are represented on the Accessibility Committee:
- Telstra (Chair)
- Hutchison Communications
- Motorola
- Nokia
- Optus
- Vodafone
