South Korea's SK Telecom has launched a novel facility which attaches a waterproof sensor which can be attached to the end of a fishing line. The sensor monitors the density of fish, and broadcasts that information back to your mobile phone - conveniently on the shoreline.
Software on the phone then displays this information along with additional information such as water temperature.
"The idea came from a content provider," she said. In the progress of working with partners the company gets a steady stream of ideas pitched at it and decided to work on this one because it was so interesting, said Cindy Kang from SK Telecom.
