Database development expression of interest

An Expression of Interest for Development of a National Antenna Database has been released by the Mobile Carriers Forum (MCF), a Division of the Australian Mobile telecommunications Association (AMTA). The National Antenna Database is required as part of the MCF’s data consistency baseline for the management of its EME compliance program on mobile telecommunications base station sites.

This program is the MCF’s vehicle for compliance of radio communications sites to the APRANSA standard for human exposure to radiofrequency fields and the National Antenna Database is integral to ensuring a consistent approach to collection and management of detail and data for each site during the compliance assessment process.

The Expression of Interest requests proposals from suitably qualified and experienced parties for development of a database system that manages antenna patterns, user administration, import and export functions and search and reporting capabilities. The MCF has published details of the Expression of Interest for download on its Website at http://www.mcf.amta.org.au. Expressions of Interest close at 2pm Australian Eastern Standard Time on Friday 8 August 2008.

The MCF is a specialised AMTA Forum that deals specifically with social, environmental, policy and regulatory issues related to the deployment and operation of mobile phone networks. Its members are: Hutchison, Optus, Telstra and Vodafone. Further details on the MCF and fact sheets on EME and its compliance program can be found on the MCF Website at http://www.mcf.amta.org.au.
