The MCF recently received positive feedback regarding the outcomes of the MCF Design and Innovation Program from the UK’s Mobile Operators Association (MOA).
In 2006, the MCF established a Design and Innovation Taskforce to work on improving the visual outcomes of mobile network infrastructure and in February 2008 the MCF launched techniques and guidelines for application on an every-day basis to improve the planning and design of antennas and towers.
On 9 June, the MCF Program Manager Matt Evans and MCF Project Consultant Warwick Keates from Wax Design met with Alec Alden, Senior Advisor MOA and Christine Judd, Chief Press Officer MOA to discuss joint initiatives for network infrastructure design. The MOA will circulate the MCF Design Guide Tool and Technical Paper to its members to gauge interest in adapting these for use in the UK. Further information will be provided to the MOA as results from use of the Design Guide Tool in Australia are documented by the MCF later in 2008.
