In a further step along the road towards better communications with Councils about Australia’s mobile networks, the Mobile Carriers Forum attended this week’s Australian Local Government Association conference.

“This has assisted Councils’ understanding of how they can contribute to decisions about where mobile network infrastructure including antennas and towers are to be established, and the community consultation associated with that process. Speaking with Mayors and Councillors from across Australia has also broadened our horizons regarding community needs” said MCF Program Manager Matt Evans.

At the conference the MCF also promoted its new video presentation to assist Councillor’s understanding of how Mobile Telecommunications Networks operate and provide services to the community. “This is an effective tool that easily explains to local government leaders how networks are established, how they operate and the benefits for communities from mobile technology”. For those that couldn’t get to the conference, the video will also be able to be viewed on the MCF’s website from early July.
