The Minister for Communications, Broadband and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy, will speak at AMTA’s Technology Showcase in Parliament House, Canberra, on June 25.
Senator Conroy has accepted an invitation to join the Chair of AMTA, Louise Sexton, to open the Showcase and release AMTA’s new corporate social responsibility publication, “Staying Connected” (see separate story in this edition).
AMTA Members will exhibit their innovative mobile telecommunications technologies to MPs, Senators, bureaucrats and staffers at the event, which will run from 5pm to 7.30pm in Senate Committee Room 2S3.
AMTA Chief Executive Officer, Chris Althaus, said innovation in services and technology is changing the way we use mobile phones and delivering a host of new services for consumers.
The Showcase will feature hands-on displays to give attendees the opportunity to see the latest 3G phones in action and gain appreciation of the potential of converging technologies.
Another highlight will be the release of the updated Access Economics report, which will detail the direct and indirect impacts of the mobile telecommunications industry on the Australian economy.
