There were 521,512 shipments of mobile phones to Australia in February 2009, according to the latest industry figures.

The shipments in February were 1.8% down on the previous month and 8.3% lower than for the first two months of this year compared to 2008.

The figures are shipments and not sales figures. Some of the handsets brought to Australia are then transshipped to other countries in the region.
