Mobile shipment figures to Australia for January have held up well despite gloomy global economic predictions and the slowing economy in Australia.

The industry’s official shipment figures supplied by Informark for January 2009 were 531,250. This was only 3.6% lower than January last year. This year’s figure was 10% higher than the corresponding month in 2007, which was a record with total mobile shipments of 9.28 million for the calendar year.
