There were 788,908 shipments of mobile phones to Australia in March 2009, according to the latest industry figures.

The shipments in March were up 51.27% on the previous month.  The figures for Q1 of 2009 were up 0.57% on Q1 2008.

The figures are shipments and not sales figures. Some of the handsets brought to Australia are then transshipped to other countries in the region.
