MobileMuster out and about at Sydney’s Live Green Festival this weekend

Sydney residents can make an environmental statement this weekend by recycling their old mobile phones, batteries and accessories at Live Green, Victoria Park on Sunday 17 August.

MobileMuster, the official recycling program of the mobile phone industry, will have a stall at Live Green and the first 20 people to recycle their old mobile phones, batteries and accessories will receive a TravelTen bus pass.

Rose Read, Manager of Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association’s (AMTA) official recycling program, MobileMuster, says Live Green is a fun and interesting event where the public can learn practical and easy ways to help protect our environment.

“We want to help people live greener by rewarding the first 20 people who recycle their old mobile phones, batteries and accessories with a TravelTen bus pass. This initiative is a win-win for people and the environment,” concluded Ms Read.

If you can’t make it to Live Green, you can recycle your old mobile phones, batteries and accessories at over 100 free drop-off points across Sydney, including Nokia Care Centres, mobile phone retailers Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, 3 Mobile, Virgin Mobile, Crazy Johns, Fone Zone and selected ANZ and Cartridge World stores.

Alternatively you can pick up a free reply paid satchel at participating Australia Post outlets or by downloading a reply paid label from www.mobilemuster.com.au

Live Green will be held at Victoria Park, corner of City Road and Broadway, Camperdown on Sunday 17 August from 10am – 4pm. There will be a variety of stalls and entertainment including the City of Sydney Green House and cooking demonstrations by top chef Joanna Saville. Entry to the event is free.
