PM’s XI provides perfect setting for 2009 policy and regulatory agenda

The Prime Minister’s XI Cricket Match in January will provide AMTA Members with a great opportunity to meet Ministers, MPs and senior bureaucrats in an informal, relaxed setting to discuss important industry issues.

The match – the PM’s XI versus New Zealand – will be played on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at Manuka Oval, Canberra.

At the last PM’s XI AMTA Members and guests had the opportunity to talk with the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy, and the then Shadow Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Bruce Billson.

AMTA CEO Chris Althaus said this year’s match would provide an excellent networking and information-sharing opportunity.

“This is an annual part of the industry’s strategic alliance and political networking program. We work closely with the Government and the Opposition to ensure its understanding of our industry’s trends, opportunities and challenges,” he said.

“The PM’s XI in January ’09 provides a great opportunity for AMTA Members, particularly because it will be held towards the end of January at the start of the new business year, which allows Members to talk with key stakeholders on major issues as the regulatory/policy process bursts back into life for 2009.

“I extend an invitation to our Members to attend this key event on the AMTA calendar.”
