MPs and Senators will have a hands-on opportunity at next week’s AMTA Showcase to experience first hand the latest technology offered by our industry and ask questions of technical experts, who will be on hand to assist them. The Showcase will be held in Parliament House, Canberra, on Wednesday, June 25, and will be attended by AMTA Board Members.
It will demonstrate the array of products and services on offer in mobile telephony as part of the latest generations of mobile technologies.
The Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy, will speak at the Showcase and release AMTA’s new publication detailing the industry’s programs to promote an industry that is environmentally sustainable, economically successful and socially responsible and in step with community needs and expectations.
AMTA Chief Executive Officer, Chris Althaus, said significant capital-intensive investment by AMTA members in technological advances had built extensive nationwide infrastructure to deliver new services for customers
“This has delivered increased data speeds, which mean shorter service response times, fewer waits and faster connections and increased offerings of interactive devices, services and applications,” he said.
This has occurred in conjunction with the increased capability and useability of handsets.
Mr Althaus said the Showcase was a timely opportunity to update the decision makers and regulators on mobile telecommunications capabilities.
