The Australian Mobile Carriers Forum has listed the Top 10 Tips on using the EMF Explained Series in the latest Operational Bulletin along with some examples of how the information resource is being used by Australian carriers.
The AMTA Health and Safety Committee has formed a partnership with leading international mobile telecommunications industry bodies to produce the communications web portal on health issues and electromagnetic fields (EMF).
AMTA Members, in conjunction with the GSM Association (GSMA) and the Mobile Manufacturers Forum (MMF), developed the site, EMF Explained Series, to provide easy-to-read information for the public and people working in EMF-related areas to gain a better understanding of the EMF and wireless issues. It can be accessed at www.emfexplained.info
The MCF Operational Bulletin http://www.mcf.amta.org.au/files/Oper.Bulletin.April.2009.pdf focuses on the using the EMF Explained Series, which covers topics on wireless technology and health, EMF research, EMF standards, common myths about mobile phone technology and provides links to other useful sources of information.
The MCF is a Division of the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA). AMTA is the peak industry body representing Australia’s mobile telecommunications industry. MCF Members include Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and Hutchison.
The MCF manages a number of aspects of mobile telecommunications common to Australian mobile network carriers including compliance with occupational and public safety standards, regulations and legislation related to radiofrequency electromagnetic energy (RF EME)
