EMF Explained, the international industry web site on health and wireless technology issues, has been recently updated to give an overview of a range of wireless technologies.
Wireless technology has significantly advanced in recent years enabling many applications in addition to a traditional voice call over a mobile phones. A new section on the site looks at a range of wireless technologies, including femtocells, DECT and LTE.
The new technologies open a range of exciting new communications functions for users; all are designed, built and tested to comply with strict science-based safety standards, which have substantial in-built safety margins. The internationally-recognised safety standards are recognised by national and international health agencies, including the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The site has been developed by AMTA in conjunction with two leading international industry associations, the GSM Association (GSMA) and the Mobile Manufacturers Forum (MMF).
The site is being translated into five languages to give it a wider audience.
